Water Rights Permitting

Our company handles all water-related permitting procedures in accordance with the Hungarian Water Management Act (1995. LVII.) and the detailed documentation requirements of the Ministry of the Interior Decree No. 41/2017 (XII.29.).

Types of Water Permits We Prepare:

  • Preliminary Permit: Defines feasibility and conditions for planned water usage or water facilities; recommended for large-scale projects,
  • Construction Permit: For constructing or modifying water facilities or treatment plants,
  • Operational Permit: For commissioning and operating water facilities, or permitting any water usage,
  • Retention Permit: For water facilities constructed or modified without proper authorization,
  • Decommissioning Permit: For dismantling and plugging authorized water facilities.

Environmental Permitting

Our company has the professional experience and qualifications to manage the complete environmental permitting process.

Under Hungarian Government Decree No. 314/2005 (XII.25.), environmental impact assessments and integrated environmental permitting procedures are required for relevant activities and facilities, including their construction, operation, modification, or decommissioning. Compliance with environmental requirements is evaluated through an integrated process.

Regulatory Compliance Testing

Our company performs testing to ensure compliance with Hungarian environmental regulations, including:

  • Comparison of contaminant concentrations in soil and groundwater with limit values specified in the Hungarian Joint Decree No. 6/2009 (IV.14.) of the Ministry of Environment and Water, the Ministry of Health, and the Ministry of Agriculture,
  • Subsurface water and soil testing for inorganic and organic contaminants during site investigations in accordance with Hungarian Decree No. 14/2005 (VI.28.) of the Ministry of Environment and Water,
  • Comparison of water pollutant emissions with the limit values set by the Hungarian Decree No. 28/2004 (XII.25.) of the Ministry of Environment and Water,
  • Waste landfill suitability tests under Hungarian Decree No. 20/2006 (IV.5.) of the Ministry of Environment and Water,
  • Classification of waste for landfill: ‘A’ - inert, ‘B’ - non-hazardous, and ‘C’ - hazardous waste.

    • Air quality reporting (Forms named: LAL, LM),
  • Water Usage Information, Control and Integrated Authority System (VIZEK):
    • Request for VOR identification number given by Water Asset Management Agency/ Water Management Authority,
    • Request for water usage approval declaration from a Water Asset Management Agency/ Water Management Authority.
